NMSI Prayer Calendar
1. Haiti—Nego and
Ellen Pierre-Louis
Praise the Lord for the young
people who are learning to surrender everything to God and are serving on the
Youth Ministries Committee. As the first Annual Youth Convention finishes
today, ask the Lord to use the young people to be a blessing to their country. Pray
that through the Here 2 Worship ministry, the young people would exalt the Lord
using their own style of music.
2. Chile—Habacuc and
Liz Diaz-Ramos
Praise the Lord for using the
skateboard ministry to attract young people. Pray that they would be drawn to
the Lord as they experience His love through Habacuc and Liz. Pray for the
development of other areas of ministry that the youth would respond to. Pray
for the provision of the support needed so John Laffoon can return to Chile and
use his gifts in ministering to the young people.
3. Costa Rica—Joanne
Cadwallader
Praise the Lord for working
out the details for Joanne to go to Costa Rica and begin teaching first grade.
Ask the Lord to help her feel at home in this new culture. Pray for good
relationships with the family that she is living with and with the other staff
at the school.
Pray for wisdom in balancing
school preparation and language study. Ask God to fill Joanne with His joy and
peace.
4. Spiritual
Formation
Thank the Lord for calling
Matt Boden to head up the Spiritual Formation Division. Ask God to guide Matt
and the rest of the Spiritual Formation team as they look at ways in which they
can best use their gifts to minister to others. Pray that the team will be used
to encourage the spiritual growth of those on the field and at the Center for
Global Outreach.
5. Uganda—Lena Pira
Praise the Lord that the
Child Development Program began August 30. Ask the Lord to use Lena as she
assists with this program. Pray for the means to expand the facilities of the
Gaba Bible Institute and for the books needed for the library. Ask God to bring
Lena someone to be a mentor for her. Pray for unity and good fellowship with
the other staff at the Bible College.
6. Cambodia—Mark*
Praise the Lord for the
pastors that will be attending the third session of the School of Discipleship
the last week of September. Pray for wisdom in the preparation for this week
and for the students to come with prepared hearts. Ask God to use Mark as he
begins to teach English in connection with Young Life Ministries in October.
Pray for opportunities to share Jesus with those who attend.
7. Kenya—Jordan and
Lee Anne Johnson
Thank the Lord for providing
the support needed for Jordan and Lee Anne to return to Kenya to work with
AfricaHope. Pray for a smooth transition for them and their two children. Ask
God to show them how He wants them to fit into the ministry there. Pray for
good communication and relationships with the other missionaries and staff.
8. CGO—Facilities
Thank the Lord for Bob, David
and Ben who work to care for the campus facilities. Pray for safety and
protection from injury as they work on repairs and construction. Ask the Lord
to care for their families and continue to reveal Himself to their children.
Pray for resources and timing in expanding housing so more missionaries can be
trained and sent out.
9. Russia—Andrea*
Thank the Lord for protecting
Andrea in the midst of the unusual heat and smoke from the summer. Pray for
Andrea’s health and for strength to continue studying language and teaching
English. Continue to pray for those who attend the English café. Ask God to
open their hearts to understand the truth of the gospel.
10. Africa Regional
Conference
Praise the Lord for bringing
together the missionaries serving in Africa for the Regional Conference, September
11-18. Ask the Lord to anoint those who will be speaking and leading
discussions. Pray that this will be a good time of fellowship and refreshment
for all attending. Pray that each one will return home with a renewed vision
for the work God has given them to do.
11. India—Neil and
Courtney*
Thank the Lord for helping
Neil and Courtney feel settled in their new home and business. Pray for
deepening relationships with those who come for the training. Ask the Lord to
use Neil and Courtney to help prepare young people for their employment through
increasing their skills in English. Pray that the young people would have a
desire to learn about Jesus.
12. Bulgaria—Gabe and
Melissa Hillman
Praise the Lord for enabling
Gabe and Melissa to complete their first term in Bulgaria. Pray for their
adjustment to being back in the States and for safety as they travel and share
with their supporters. Ask the Lord to provide the additional support they need
for returning to ministry in Velingrad. Pray that the believers in Velingrad
would continue to be a light in their community.
13. Center for Global
Outreach—Wendy West
Thank the Lord for bringing
Wendy to serve at the Center for Global Outreach. Ask the Lord to show her how
she can best use her gifts and training in helping prepare new missionaries.
Ask the Lord to give Wendy wisdom and discernment as she gives input to
missionaries on the field.
14. Mexico—Sergio and
Holly Alvarado
Praise the Lord for the
Coffee House that is being started. Pray that the remodeling of the storefront
and the registering of the business would go smoothly. Ask the Lord to bring
many people to attend the activities at this outreach center which will be
hosted by the church. Ask the Lord to provide the funds needed for the
remodeling and the supplies.
15. Africa Hope—Jamie
Sabo
Praise the Lord for using
Jamie to host six short-term teams that came to serve at AfricaHope. Ask the
Lord to enable Jamie to use the Swahili she has learned to communicate and
build deeper friendships with Kenyans. Ask God to show her how she can use her
gifts to minster to the needs of the people.
16. Ethiopia—Scott*
Praise the Lord for the
beginning of a project to house children who are orphaned from HIV/Aids. Pray
for the provision of a house to rent and for staff to be mentors and oversee
the care of the children. Ask the Lord to continue to enable Scott to learn the
language and to speak through him as he preaches at the church.
17. Asia Regional
Conference
Praise the Lord for the
opportunity for those who serve in Asia to attend the Regional Conference in
Cambodia, September 19-25. Ask the Lord to encourage those who attend with special
times of fellowship and worship. Pray for safety for all who are traveling from
the U.S. and various Asian countries. Pray for meaningful discussion of topics
that pertain to ministry in Asia.
18. Zimbabwe-Dan and
Mary Vissani
Praise the Lord for the birth
of Dan and Mary’s daughter, Olivia. Pray for Dan and Mary as they adjust to
their new role of being parents. Ask the Lord to continue to use Dan to teach
the farmers new methods of farming that will benefit them and their families.
Pray that the people would see God’s power and goodness in His creation.
19. Central Asia*
Praise the Lord for allowing
J. to rejoin her husband in the business in Central Asia. Pray that their son
would adjust well to being in college and would develop friendships with other
believers. Pray for the growth of the business and provision of needed staff.
Ask the Lord to use J. and D. to encourage and disciple believers to stand firm
in their culture.
20. England—Kyle and
Mindy Duncan
Thank the Lord for leading
Kyle and Mindy to a new area of ministry. Ask the Lord to give them wisdom and
creativity in developing their plans for reaching out to the community. Pray
that Ryan and Meghan McCracken would get their full support and be able to join
them in January. Pray for much needed increase in financial support for Kyle
and Mindy so they can focus on the ministry.
21. Youth Hope—Malawi
Praise the Lord for using
Drew and Josh, apprentices in Malawi, to be an encouragement to the
missionaries. Pray for wisdom in establishing projects that will have a lasting
impact on the youth. Ask God to use Adam and Kristy as they teach the youth
worker training September 24-27. Pray for the planning and establishment of the
Business School Project.
22. North Africa*
Thank the Lord for the time
the K’s have had in the States. Pray for spiritual protection as they settle
back into their work. Ask the Lord to use them in showing His love to the
children. Pray that the Holy Spirit would give the believers courage to witness
to those who don’t know the Lord.
23. Support Raising—Megan
Johnson
Praise the Lord for provision
of 82% of Megan’s needed budget to go to Zimbabwe. Ask the Lord to provide the
remaining funds needed so Megan can get to Zimbabwe by the first of the year.
Pray that Megan would receive her residence and work permit from the Zimbabwean government.
24. Interim CEO—Laura
Clancy
Praise the Lord for helping
Laura settle into her new role as Interim CEO. Pray for renewed strength as
Laura returns from attending the Regional Conferences. Ask God to give Laura
wisdom and sensitivity to His leading in carrying out her responsibilities.
Pray that Laura would be encouraged by the promises in God’s Word.
25. Leadership
Training—Bob and Peggy Kuest
Thank the Lord for safety as
Bob and Peggy travel to six different African countries to do leadership
training. As they meet with students in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, September 24-October
18, ask the Lord to anoint their teaching. Pray for the development of
strong leaders for the
churches in these countries.
26. Mexico—Impacto
Latino
Praise the Lord for the 43
men that participated in the First Annual Men’s Retreat. Pray for the Vision
Summit, September 26-27, as representatives from supporting churches come and
celebrate the church planting project. Pray for a good time of fellowship with
the missionary team and
members of the Jubilee Church. Ask God to provide funds needed for acquiring
the land and new building.
27. Thailand—Melissa
Northrup
Praise the Lord for God’s
faithfulness during Melissa’s first term of service. Ask the Lord to give her
strength, wisdom, and provision
throughout her time of Home Assignment which begins in October. Pray
also for a time of rest and refreshment. Pray that others would be encouraged
as she shares with them how God has been working in Thailand.
28. Australia—Jesse
and Cynthia Frame
Praise the Lord that Jesse
and Cynthia have received their work permit. Pray for strength in making
preparations to move to Australia in October. Pray for meaningful times to
spend with family and friends in the midst of all that needs to be
accomplished. Ask the Lord to provide the rest of their needed support. Pray
for good transition and adjustment for their children.
29. COAT (Community,
Orientation, Assessment, Training)
Thank the Lord for the ones
who will be coming for the COAT missionary training program which begins October
13. Pray that God would remove any obstacles that might prevent them from
coming. Pray for wisdom for Kathy and Jen as they prepare the schedule. Pray
for good preparation for those who will be leading various sessions.
30. Southeast Asia*
Praise the Lord for the 10
girls who were baptized at the home for girls who have come out of difficult
situations. Pray that they would learn how to follow the Lord. Ask God to give
Jenni wisdom as she plans ways to disciple the staff and the girls who are living
there. Pray for continued improvement in language for Jenni and for boldness in
sharing the Gospel.
